Honor

During more than 30 years of successful business, INIT’s innovative capabilities and management qualities have been honored time and again.

This success story started only a few years after INIT’s founding. In 1989 INIT received the innovations award from the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg – the Dr. Rudolf Eberle Preis. This award honors middle sized companies for outstanding efforts in the area of developing and using new technologies.

In 2002, INIT founder and CEO Dr. Gottfried Greschner was awarded "Entrepreneur of the year“ in the catagory of Informationtechnology. The award, presented by the consulting and accounting firm Ernst & Young, recognizes exceptional entrepreneurial performance and personality.

In 2006, the Swedish magazine CIO Sweden awarded AB Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) for the most innovative IT and ITS project. SL received this award for JustNu, the fleet management and RTPI system which enabled SL to improve service quality and punctuality and to control public transport more efficiently.

In 2008 INIT received the Canadian Urban Transportation Association’s (CUTA) Corporate Recognition Award to acknowledge INIT’s outstanding achievement with their advanced intelligent transportation system installed on York Region’s VIVA Bus Rapid Transit System in Ontario, Canada. Subsequently VIVA won the “IT Project of the Year” award given by the Tri-Committee of Ontario.

In 2009, INIT received the itcs-Innovations-Award from the ITCS expert panel of the German Transport Asscociation VDV (Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen). The award honors innovative achievements in the field of Intermodal Transport Control Systems (ITCS). The prize was awarded for the new “online detour“ feature within the fleet management system MOBILE-ITCS. With this award INIT demonstrated once again their ability to design and produce innovative ITS technology.

Also in 2009, the excellent working conditions that INIT provides its employees were recognized doubly. First, the INIT headquarters in Karlsruhe, Germany received the "BFamily Award" declaring INIT to be one of the ten most family oriented companies in the Technology Region in Karlsruhe. Later that same year, the North American headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia was awarded one of the top ten “best places to work”  award by the regional business magazine, Inside Edition.

In 2011 RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) decided to grant INIT the title of "The Best Supplier Cooperating with the Transportation Systems Management". Mr. Essa Al Dosari (CEO of PTA - the Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority) expresses gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Eyad Tayeb (Managing Director of INIT FZE Dubai) for his sustainable cooperation with Roads & Transport Authority and the efforts exerted in performing the duties assigned in the company.

INIT attained again the BFamily Award – INIT received first place in the category "childcare" and third place in the category "working time"
Once again INIT received the BFamily Award from the economic junior chamber Karlsruhe. Every two years this Award is given to the ten most family oriented companies in the Technology Region Karlsruhe. This time INIT excelled in the categories childcare (first place) and working time (third place). Part of the family oriented concept is for example a child care subsidy of up to 400 Euros per month, wage continuation of up to 10 days in case of child sickness as well as flexible working time and working models. We are very pleased about this Award and we want to thank the economic junior chamber Karlsruhe very much.
